Madi was in charge of the FHE (family home evening) lesson last night. We totally left it up to her and she did wonderful. She got the conference issue of the Ensign and found a talk that she liked, Elder Holland's talk about using kind words. She then came up with a great object lesson about building a celestial home. Using the Jenga blocks she had everyone come up with something we could say or do that would be kind, listening to others, not calling names, etc. With each idea she would add another block to the house. Then she showed what happened to our home when people weren't kind. Block by block the house came down. It also helped that the wind was still blowing so we could talk about how a home like that couldn't protect us very well from the storms of the adversary. Then she finished off by using another quote from Elder Holland. Bravo Madi!
Needless to say the "kindness" didn't last even until bedtime, but I was so impressed with her lesson!

Madi is so awesome. That sounds a lot better than most of our FHEs that we have!
